DIY Olympic Rings

With opening ceremonies for the Winter 2014 Olympics just hours away, we were looking for a great way to celebrate. One of Meme's friends always hosts an opening ceremony party and we decided to make some rings for her wall.

5 14in. Wreaths (We used straw because they were so much cheaper, you can use any firm wreath form)
5 rolls of Crepe Paper AKA Streamers (1 of each: blue, black, red, yellow, and green)
Glue (School glue, glue dots, hot glue, etc.)

1.  Roll the streamers around the wreath, being sure to overlap as you go. I suggest to do two 'laps' around the wreath for good coverage and smooth look.

2. Secure with a dot of glue.

3. Repeat steps 1-2 to make a wreath of each color.

4. Hang on wall with fishing line and go for the gold!

This is one of the simplest yet nicest looking wall displays I've made. The whole project cost about $25 and took less than 15 min to make. Use smaller or larger wreaths depending on the size of display you want.

What's your favorite Olympic event?
